Global Warming. Stop buying things you don't need!

Right, we all have been hearing more and more about the effects of global warming, but how many of you truly took time to learn and understand its devastating consequences?
When your life is still the same, despite the air pollution and a slight change in the duration of seasons and the unusual weather, it is hard to think that we are about to succumb a catastrophic change that will modify the life of our planet forever.
In the last 100 years with the development of industries and technology, the life on the planet has changed extremely fast from a slow, agricultural, tranquil life to the life we know today made of cars, computers, mobile phones, airplanes that can take us in a few hours from county to country, from one side of the world to the other.
We have been building houses everywhere, destroying the eco-system, occupying 50% of the surface of the planet.
Our forests are reduced to small patches of green, considering that trees are the lungs of the earth, now this is a really big problem.
When you watch documentaries about nature, they always show you these perfectly human-free environments, where animals roam free.
What you dont know is that these natural paradises are not as big as they seem, there are roads, houses and cars right around them!
That's because we have been building everywhere and where we dont live we have built roads to get us to other inhabitated places!
Furthermore think about the luxury we live in, in the West.
We all have computers, steroes,  endless numbers of Tvs, mobile phones that get changed and dumped basically every year, ipods, mp3 players, dvd players, printers, scanners, all kinds of things one could dream to have.
Well all these things have a price, not only the price we pay to purchase them or the price the factories have to manifacture them but the price that our planet pays.
Most things, especially the ones made of plastic, are draining the natural resources of our planet dry. In a society where consumerism compels us to buy more and more and to always have the top of line items of the newest technologies, the natural resources are being exploited with a terribly increasing speed and in allarming amounts. Carbon Fossile which we use as fuel, source of power and
as essential element for manifacture is running out...we are consuming forever what the nature has created in millions of years...which will take millions of years to recreate.
We have been using it as it was a never ending resource, but it is not and only now the governments begin to realize it.
If they dont find soon a valid alternative to it, we can all forget all the commodities we are used to today.
What is also very problematic is that while before it was just the West using these resources, now even the 3rd world countries are beginning to develop industrially and they also want to live at the very same standard as western countries. These means these countries are also going to drain from the very same "wells" as us, accelerating the disappearing of the very same resources.
Look at China, twenty years ago China didnt even have highways, now it has cities with skyscrapers,  loads of industries and it is the fastest growing economy in the world.
The raise in temperature we have been having in the past years because of global warming has made thousands of glaciers around the world disappear. Even the very top of Hymalaya, the highest place in the world  is melting at an amazing speed. If it goes on like this in the next 10 years we will have to face great catastophies.
Every year when the ice from Hymalaya melts from the glaciers its waters goes to fill the 3 biggest rivers in Asia, that cross India and China. With its waters the fields are irrigated and people can mantain their agriculture and grow their rice.
If the glacier gets smaller and smaller these rivers will slowly have so little water and the whole ecosystem will be destroyed.
The cultivation of rice and other products will be totally impossible in vast areas and this will seriously affect the way people eat all over the world.
The melting of icebergs will increase the sea level of many meters, these mean many countries will be totally flooded, and as the temperature raises the deserts will get bigger and vast areas of Africa and other warm countries will be totally uninhabitable.
Now, considering we are several billion people in the world, where will all these people go?
They will have to move to the little areas where life would be still bearable. I can imagine in my head cities of the future made of kilometric skyscrapers where everyone would live on top of the other , because the people will be too many compared to the inhabitable surface.
Or maybe, even worse, a new form of racial hatred will get rid of all the muslims, all the black people, or something like that, so the ones left can have the space to live and exploit the remaining resources of the earth.
What a terrible perspective!
All this sounds like a terrible nightmare and it seems just like the delusion of a lunatic, the scary thing is that it is not.
That's why all governments of the world now have as 1st priority the problem of global warming, because it is imminent!
And what about all the species of animals that are in danger? Every half hour a different specie ceases to exist!
Not only due to the change of climate and of seasons but also because we have polluted and destroyed the animals natural environment!
And what about natural catastrophies? They have quadrupled in the last 100 years and they will keep increasing.
Do you know that in Nigeria there are fields full of technological wastes coming from the west? Literally hills of broken TVs, old steroes, all kinds of electrical appliances that the West doesnt need anymore. Why do we ship them there and begin to destroy one of the most unspoiled countries in the world? Because we have no alternative. Because we are already full of trash and wastes.
That's because we keep producing and producing, the demand is so high, that we cant even get rid of our own wastes!
Do you know that people in Greenland, a land covered in ice where almost nobody lives have the highest percentage of pollution in their blood? How can it be?
Because of all the winds, they get all our pollution! Yes, even such a remote part of our planet is affected, nothing is spared!
So, if you care about the destiny of our planet, please stop buying things you dont need. Dont believe our consumerist society that makes you believe you really need a new mobile phone, the newest  playstation, the newest mp3 player. We dont need any of these things. We dont need these things to be happy. That's not what life is about.
Look how this society has become. Noone gets married anymore, they just want to work so they get the money to BUY things they dont need. They work 5 days are week or more from morning to dawn, so they can pay off  their debts. So they keep buying things they dont need.  They work all week and then get drunk on weekends. Then they get depressed because they do nothing but working and getting drunk and their lives are so sad and empty.
Dont you see what money and consumerism has done to our society? We are slaves of our own materialism!

sincerely,

Hayam Nur as Sufi

Why I chose Islam

I wonder how many people really take their time to read blogs on the net. I bet most people who come to my page just come either for my music or to look at my pictures. For those of you who want to know me better as a person I write this blog. Today I really felt the need to clarify on the front page of my profile that I am NOT a satanist and that it actually really does bother me that many people think I am one.
I understand people assume that because I was in Ancient for many years. Back then I did write several strong anti religious lyrics. I thought all religions I knew of were very distant from my vision of the world and of the meaning of life. Nothing seemed to be completely true, nothing seemed able to give an answer to my never ending existential questions.
I spent so many years of my life studying all I could study, hungry for knowledge. My young heart was tormented to the point I would stay awake at night staring at the emptiness of my room, litterally getting crazy for not being able to find an answer to everything, to why we exist, to why so many bad things were happenning in the world.
My family is catholic and I was raised in a catholic environment and sent to catholic schools. I asked them loads of questions, their answers were always very confused and controversial and soon I understood they didnt make much sense. Something was just wrong.
As a teenager I was spending great part of my days studying science, chemistry, biology, astronomy, physics. I wanted to know everything that science had discovered. I made myself a culture and from what I had learned, from the scientific proof, I started to develop my own theories on the universe, on the mysteries of life and the meaning of life itself.
I was observing the world, in silence, always thinking and elaborating my own theories on everything, trying to find an answer that could satisfy me.
Last year one night I had a deep conversation with some islamic intellectuals. I started to expose them my theories and was very surprised when they told me that the things I was talking about actually existed and even had names in the islamic culture. My head was in a shock: me who always had been anti religious, me who had spent years of my life studying science for then develloping my own theories and laws, how could I ever see my ideas reflected into a religion? And of all religions, Islam?
I had to know more about it. I wanted to see how many other similarities my theories had in common with Islam. My conversations with the islamic intellectuals occurred more and more often, getting deeper and deeper.
My head was in such disbelief when they were telling me that most of the things I was talking about were actually written in the Qur'an. I had to read it and see it for myself. When I read the Qur'an, page after page I was raptured by it and by its perfection. Not only I was reading all the things I had always thought, it even went far beyond, filling in the gaps that my own theories had.
Not only that, my biggest shock was to actually see that the Qur'an was explaining in details the creation of the world, the creation of life itself, of us humans and of the cosmos itself. Modern theories, recently discovered and accepted by science all over the world such the theory of the Big Bang, The Big Crunch, the fact that the universe is not still as we always thought but actually constantely expanding, the theory of relativity, the relation between time and space, plus loads of other scientific topics that vary from biology, oceanology, astronomy, physics, they were all there, all written in the Qur'an!
To me there was no doubt anymore, as I was reading those words it all started to make sense and there is no doubt in my heart that the Qur'an is the word of God. No other book in this world has such a complete perfection of clear details like the Qur'an. It covers every possible topic, gives answers to everything and even is a guide for human relations and social behaviours.
My life has changed dramatically. Definitely to the better. I will not impose my belief on anybody but I highly recomand the reading of the Qur'an to all people that like me are thirsty for knowledge, to all the ones who are interested in existential topics and to all the atheists and people who simply think that religion how it is presented and god dont make sense. In fact you are right.
There is NO God. Just Allah.

This world would be a better place if..

Salaam,
this world would be a much better place if people instead of feeding their own ego would start to look around themselves and put themselves in other's people shoes...I see so much indifference and lack of sensitivity, most people just care about the self and the I, like the whole world would evolve around them and they were the only thing that counts.
I look at myself, at my life, and whenever I realize that i could have helped somebody and haven't done it, it just feels aweful to look back and not being able to change it for good.
To make somebody happy even with something simple, be it a smile, an answer to an email, an hello to an unknown passerby , sometime can really brighten the day...even if it something that wont change your own day it may be something meaningful to another. And kindess is free, but some people are too greedy with it.
What I promised to myself long ago was this, to try and look at these things and learn from the mistakes other people made with me, so I will avoid making them with others.
The common thought that a person alone cannot change the world is just not true. We all are important we all have the power to make the world a better place...by having respect for ourselves and our own families, friends, people we just know and people we do not know. Show kindness and respect to others and try to help others as much as you can, because one day you will be rewarded for it, and the kindness is remembered and repaid with kindness ( most of the times).
In a world where humility is a rare quality I treasure all the people who show kindness of heart and sensitivity...remember one's ego is your worst enemy!
Look at nature itself, look at the various organs of the human body, look at the planetary system and how everything works in perfect harmony and balance...by these things we should take example and work as a community, one supporting the other, one hand washing the other and be strong together and start to see oneself as part of this incredible harmonious working system instead of being lonely islands lost in the ocean of one's egotisic self.
Much love to all of you

About the outrageous caricature of Prophet Muhammad (saw)

There you go. The kuffar studied it well also this time.
I personally havent seen the drawings of the Prophet Muhammad but as all of you who read newspapers or watch the news on Tv, I widely heard about it. What irritates me the most is not the caricatures of the Prophet themselves (although I find it really bad taste), it is the reason behind those drawings.
I read an interview on a swedish newspaper where the drawers were saying that they were kind of "forced" to take this assignment or lose their jobs. They knew those kind of drawings would raise a lot of troubles and that is why they were not too pleased about taking this particular assignment.
But wait a minute, why would a responsible editor of an important national newspaper authorize such a strong provocation to the islamic world in the first place? Knowing about all the tensions that already exist between muslims and non-muslims all around the world , knowing of people in every city being afraid of suicide bombings and things like that?
Because. Because the reasons behind all this are much deeper than they want to show us. Because it is in the interest of the people who pull the strings of the economic and political world to raise hatred against islam.
Funny how they always use the word "Islamic terrorist". Funny how every arab or person coming from the middle east is considered a threat and looked at with extreme suspicions. Funny and tragic at the same time how a brazilian guy in London was shot down by the police, just because he was running in the subway station with a backpack on his back.
But who had the blame here? Who can we really blame for this islamic terror, for all this hatred for muslims?
Everyone has a little blame. The news using the wrong terms, the politicians for their dirty games, the men on the street that talk about things they don't know. And let's face it: those islamic fundamentalists they are really giving the most wrong image of Islam. Islam is about peace and harmony.
Islam condamns suicide, in fact it is considered a very big sin. And so is the killing of innocents. So those damn suicide bombers, who spread so much terror and kill or sacrifice themselves for their religion, they are actually doing something that Islam forbids. Therefore they cant represent islam.
Think about a football match. It should be all about football, about the sport and have fun at the game. Now think of Hooligans...they go to matches to spread violence and release their aggression, beating people up, getting drunk, setting cars on fire, devastating towns. Are hooligans the prototype of the typical football fan? No they aren't. Do they even watch the game? Do they go there really for the fun of the game? I dont think so, since what they do, doesnt really resemble what the fun of sport is about.
Kind of a simple parellel, but I guess it gives the idea.
Those drawings of the Prophet Muhammad, many months after the first publishing in Denmark, have been re-printed by many other european countries such as Italy, Spain and Germany among others in name of the freedom of speech. Knowing the consequences that this further provocation was going to cause.
Like a well planned football match between two teams that hate each other, that have been provoking each other, would naturally gather hooligans. Just the same thing.
Now I comdamn terrorism. No matter how much the Prophet was insulted, violence and threats are not the answer. Those who answer back with violence are just as low as the people behind all this anti islamic orchestration. They knew they were going to get this kind of reaction and that is exactly why they did it....and now, because of some extremist fools all fingers are pointed at Islam.
The best way to protest is a civil, peaceful and intelligent protest that attacks the anti islamic countries to the very core: attack their economy.
Do not buy any product coming from those countries, for instance. That would be a very powerful and intelligent attack that would effectively damage the enemies of Islam and would mantain the muslim integrity.
As far as the freedom of speach it should be tollerated to a certain extent. When it has such a bad taste and it publicly offend over one billion muslims around the world, it really shouldnt be allowed.
How would the world react if some newspaper was going to publish caricatures of the jews getting killed at a SS lager camp?
Think about it and let it sink in.
